Garrett Roy is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He started his career as a technician in the Emergency Department, then going on to work in many settings as an RN and advanced practice nurse (APRN). He went on to receive a Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) from Vanderbilt University (Nashville, Tennessee), and worked as an advanced practice nurse in areas including pediatrics, geriatrics, family practice, acute care, and case management. He then went on to get a post-master's certification as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner from Liberty University (Lynchburg, Virginia), and has worked in general psychiatry in a variety of settings, caring for people of all ages. His experience working in private practice, hospital setting, and in a federally qualified health care center has developed a passion for increasing access to high quality care for a spectrum of mental health issues, while decreasing the stigma associated with seeking care. In his free time, he can be found at his daily group exercise class, hiking, biking, canoeing, or looking for an adventure with his wife and 3 children.
