ABOUT Deborah (Debbie) A. Blackwell

Debbie Blackwell is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner as well as a Family Nurse Practitioner. With over 20 years of nursing experience, she worked as an RN in telemetry, dialysis and research. She attended St. Louis University in Missouri where she obtained her Master's Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Post-Master's certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health. She also completed a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Residency at the Raymond G Murphy VA Medical center in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she specialized in the psychiatric care of Veterans suffering from PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disease and ADHD. Debbie believes in the Recovery Model that emphasizes the belief that people can recover from mental illness to lead full, satisfying lives.
In her free time you can find Debbie playing violin in a local orchestra or traveling.
