Christa Staples is a certified nurse practitioner. She pursued a career in nursing in the neonatal intensive care unit in Jackson, MS. From there, she obtained a Master of Science in nursing as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and worked in the NICU for 10+ years. She furthered her education by obtaining a Post Master's degree in Pediatrics and Family. She has worked in outpatient clinics since then in the field of pediatrics and family medicine. My time in the NICU made me aware of the mental health issues of mothers’, not only with sick infants, but also with healthy infants. The pediatric world opened my experience to a plethora of mental health issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and ADD/ADHD.
In her free time, she serves as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the United States Army Reserves. She also enjoys working out at the local cross-fit gym, Versus.
