Carmen Gruia is a board certified nurse practitioner with a passion for mental health care and treating her patients with compassion and competence. She began her career in nursing in 1998 and has worked in the hospital setting for 18 years in various departments such as medical surgical, surgery, post anesthesia care, open heart surgery, and preoperative education.
She obtained her Masters in Science of Nursing in 2018 from Maryville University in St.Louis, Missouri and has worked in family practice in the greater Dayton area while daily treating the mental health needs of her patients in this role. She has served patients in rural health areas that struggle with anxiety, depression and ADHD through combining empathetic care with resources and medication treatment towards their better health. She believes that mental health is vital to overall well being and good health. She is a supporter of holistic healthcare, access to healthcare services for everyone, and serves to treat her patients with respect, empathy and support.
Carmen is married and has three children. She enjoys cooking, traveling, interior design, gardening and reading. She was born and raised in western Canada and has lived and worked as a dual citizen in the US for over 20 years.
