Yokina Williams, M.A. is a graduate of South Carolina State University. Yokina is working toward her LPC licensure. Yokina has been working in the mental health field for over seventeen years, and has experience working with adults, children and families who have experienced trauma, varied mental health diagnoses, and legal and socioeconomic concerns. She works from a systemic, collaborative, strength-based approach that is mindful of cultural, ethnic and economic concerns. Through her work, she strives to foster a safe space where clients can tell their story, gain insight into how that has impacted them, and create a new reality that is more fulfilling. She utilizes various therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, solutions-focused therapy and narrative therapy. Yokina describes herself as having a down-to-earth nature, sense of humor, and personable demeanor. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling and watching sports.
