Valerie utilizes a person-centered approach and takes great pride in being an effective and compassionate counselor. She holds a Master's in Clinical Counseling and is also a National Certified Counselor. She has an abundance of mental health experience (anxiety, depression, bipolar, personality disorders, trauma, grief, life changes, stress, OCD, phobias, etc.,) and likes to integrate a holistic approach to helping people achieve better wellness. She has skills in using different therapy modalities to change maladaptive thoughts and behaviors including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). No matter how big or small the challenge you are facing, Valerie strives to help her clients gain a sense of stability and control in their lives. In her free time, she enjoys songwriting, volunteering, being outside, spending time with her pets, and going to the beach.
