ABOUT Tanya Bailey

Tanya Bailey has a Master in Counseling Psychology with over 10 years' experience working with individuals, children, adolescences, and families. Tanya specializes in crisis prevention for clients struggling with suicidality, the effects of trauma and untreated psychosis. Tanyas experience working with high-risk clients involved working with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatric hospital, continuation schools, Department of Child Family Service, Juvenile Probation, School Districts, Domestic Violence Shelters, and homeless services. Tanya has worked with a multitude of families that struggle with communication, boundaries, and the flexibility needed to survive life transitions. The primary areas of focus have included grief, substance use, divorce, violence, gang involvement and mental illness. Tanya's passion is to empower clients to find their voice, establish and maintain healthy relationships and challenge their perceptions. Tanya believes therapy is more than just managing your symptoms. One of Tanya primary interventions is to help clients establish enjoyable activities to motivate them through every part of the therapeutic process. This is the foundation upon which clients find the encouragement and courage to challenge their thoughts feelings and behaviors. Tanyas therapeutic philosophy stems from the enjoyment she finds in music, cooking, the beach, painting, gardening, bike rides, and rollerblading.
