Susan Jenkins is a Licensed Masters Social Worker who earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. Her early desire was to have a hands-on approach to meeting mental health needs by supporting practical solutions to life’s challenges. Susan began social work practice by supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they overcame challenges to become integrated into their communities. Ensuring the highest degree of support for family involvement was priority.
In recent years, medical social work practice in the home health field has afforded the opportunity to support individuals facing serious illness as well as their caregivers who often struggle to find balance. Being from a rural area, Susan has seen the effects of isolation and reluctance to seek care for mental health needs and is committed to expanding options through online platforms for those in need. In her free time, she enjoys writing inspirational articles, listening to great music, and playing with her five rambunctious rescue dogs.
