ABOUT Sophia C. Rayam

Sophia Rayam holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Capella University. From a young age Sophia sparked an interest in the mental health and well-being of others. At the age of 10 she lead a group called the Mediators in Elementary where children who got into verbal or physical altercations would come and discuss their problems and feelings as a means of problem solving and deescalation. Sophia’s experience includes managing 24/7 crisis hotlines and facilities, spear heading mental health outreach campaigns and proving specialized mental health counseling to sexual assault victims, domestic violence victims and those struggling with various mental health issues. Sophia believes in Client Centered Therapy and utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to assist with valuable coping skills. There is no one size fits all therapy and no client is the same, no matter their similarities or histories. Sophia is passionate about mental health and having the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others while watching them grow into the individuals they wish to be. In her free time Sophia loves watching football and basketball, writing poetry, trying new restaurants (foodie!) and hanging out with her family and friends.
