ABOUT Rebecca Bailey

Rebecca Bailey holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Old Dominion University, and is currently completing her Master's in Social Work at Norfolk State University. Rebecca has direct personal experience dealing with and overcoming mental illnesses, including depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, grief, and bipolar disorder; this inspired her to study it further and give a direct impact to the community. Professionally, Rebecca has gained several years of experience in the field of social services and counseling, starting as a reentry case manager in 2018 and working with several nonprofit organizations since then. She has experience teaching and practicing techniques including mindfulness, motivational interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and positive behavior support (PBS) to collaboratively create case plans to identify and process goals. Rebecca wants to experience, educate, and be educated on mental health. For recreation she loves creating art, coloring, yoga, books, and bunnies.
