ABOUT Nicole Byrd

Nicole Byrd has a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. As a person who experienced opiate addiction as a young adult and grew up in a home with a loved one who struggled with alcoholism, Nicole understands how trauma can manifest in our lives and affect our mental health. These experiences instilled a deep understanding of the unique, ranging mental health needs people face and a desire to help others on their journey. Nicole utilizes a person-centered, solution-focused approach that includes re-framing, goal setting, and narrative therapy, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to promote meaningful change, challenge thinking/behavior patterns and develop coping skills. Nicole strives to pull from both personal experience and education to help others maintain their mental health and overall well-being. In her free time she enjoys rescuing pets, watching college football, grilling with friends and spending time with family.

Real change, enduring change, happens one step at a time.- Ruth Badger Ginsburg
