Mellissa Currie graduated with her Masters in Social Work from Boise State University with a concentration on wellness and mindfulness. Having experienced anxiety herself, she is aware of the impact this can have on someone’s well-being and their ability to experience life to the fullest. Her career focus has been on working with caregivers and the unique challenges they face with the aging population. Mellissa prefers a strengths-based approach and fosters active participation towards goal achievement. She utilizes Solutions Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing with an emphasis on positive self-awareness, recognition of barriers, and development of coping strategies. She is passionate about ending the stigma associated with mental health. Mellissa loves crafting, embroidery, collecting succulent plants, being outside, bird watching, hiking, travel, and is a murder mystery enthusiast.
