Melanie Maddox has a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Social Work. Melanie has several years of experience working providing counseling to diverse array of clients. She believes that each client is unique and utilizes a person-centered, culturally sensitive approach that integrates aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance based therapy, mindfulness techniques, social skills/emotion regulation training, parent training, self-compassion, positive psychology, motivational interviewing and other modalities to best suit each client's specific needs and experience. She is also certified in Gottman couples therapy (Level 1 & 2) and Trauma-focused CBT and has professional experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, foster children, immigrants, refugees, and victims of trafficking. Her ultimate career goal is to deliver tele-health services to underserved and rural populations in English, Spanish and Mandarin. In her free time she enjoys going on walks with her dogs, spending time in nature, visiting friends and family, playing tennis and snowboarding.
