Megan holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Capella. As a military veteran and mental health professional of 20 years, Megan has first-hand knowledge and experience working in the mental health field and counseling people from childhood through adulthood. Learning the difference it can make, to help people feel heard and supported in a healthier way, is what sparked her interest in the field of mental health. Providing those who experience, those who may interact and can help people experiencing mental health difficulties, with education and is one of her biggest priorities. Megan’s experience includes working in assessments up to providing long term counseling psych crisis with community members experiencing anything from anxiety to schizophrenia to utilize various mental skills, including visualization, re-framing, goal-setting, and positive self-talk. She used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) daily with clients to aid in coping mechanisms. Megan strives to utilize her passion and experience to promote mental health and wellness. In her free time, she enjoys watching golden girls, crafting (learning to crochet), finding beautiful moments and is obsessed with 80’s music!
