Luanna Ramirez holds a Master of Social Work, with a concentration in Direct Practice Specialty in Mental Health and Substance Abuse from The University of Texas at Arlington.
Luanna's experience as an active-duty member in the Air Force revealed to her a lack of discussion around mental health reinforced by military culture, in which members were discouraged from asking for help. After leaving the Air Force, she committed herself to disrupting the stigma around mental wellness in the military to effect positive change and break down the barriers to treatment that exist across various populations.
Luanna’s experience ranges across psychotherapy and psychoeducation within diverse populations, in which she applies a variety of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness and relaxation exercises, with clients through a strengths-based perspective.
Luanna aims to equip clients with a toolkit of techniques and exercises that can be used towards managing their mental health in an effective, empowering manner.
In her free time, she enjoys collecting houseplants, discovering parks and trails with her son, and napping with her old cat.
We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to. - Brené Brown
