Laura Van Hook has her Certification in Life Coaching from Inspirational Life Coaching. She also holds a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling: Life Coaching from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology: Life Coaching from Liberty University.
Laura Van Hook takes pride in her ability to connect with clients while making sure they feel respected and listened to. As a Certified Life Coach, she believes in the power of positive thinking and goal setting. She understands how it is to feel stuck in life. She is excellent at helping clients establish the coping skills they need to power through the difficult times while setting attainable goals to realize the healthy change in their lives.
As a military spouse for twenty-seven years and the mother of three children, Laura experienced a lot of days alone when her husband deployed. She understands how it feels to feel overwhelmed, stressed, and inadequate from time to time. Within her journey, she felt inspired to learn more about how transforming our thinking affects how we think. Most of the time, we cannot change the circumstances we are in, but we can change ourselves.
Laura’s experience includes working with military families primarily during deployments, families of people with PTSD, and Life Coaching. She has found that positive psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), using the S.M.A.R.T. goal format, or creating vision boards have proven to provide a positive outcome for her clients.
In her free time, she loves hanging out with her family, walking, playing with her dogs, and loves to go to the movie theater.
What you are supposed to do when you do not like a thing is change it. If you cannot change it, change the way you think about it. – Maya Angelou
