Kiersten Yanez-Rutkovsky is a Professional Counselor that has always had an interest in social psychology and relationships. Kiersten began her studies at University of Connecticut and started out in social psychology research. Graduate school, field work and experience has led her to become a Cognitive behavioral Therapist with experience working in Marriage and Family Counseling and Clinical Mental Health. She considers herself someone who sparks change in individuals or couples lives. Specific areas of expertise include but are not limited to stress, anxiety, PTSD, depression and insomnia.
Kiersten supports her clients with an integrative approach facilitating change by replacing negative thoughts or behavioral patterns with positive lifestyle changes. Those that seek counseling would be amazed at how capable individuals are in making changes for the better and living happy healthy well adjusted lives.
On a personal level, Kiersten enjoys life in general and has a variety of hobbies from yoga, hiking, cross country skiing and tennis. Having grown up as part of a military family she has lived all over the United States and loves traveling especially.
