Kierra Banks is a licensed Master Social Worker who received her degree from Capella University. Growing up in the New Orleans area and being the child of a parent that committed suicide, Kierra understands the crucial need for access to quality mental health care, especially for people with low socioeconomic backgrounds. Kierra began her professional career as a Mental Health Specialist and was later promoted to a Mental Health Professional. She uses mental health skills such as active listening, empowerment, role playing, and re-framing, as well as Social Learning Theory, Systems Theory, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to assist in the development and management of psychosocial skills. Kierra strives to utilize her education, acquired skills, and life experiences to encourage people to nurture the well-being and stability of one’s mental health. In her leisure, Kierra loves to spend time with her family and friends, eat good food, and travel! She’s also an avid Amazon shopper!
