ABOUT Kathy (Kat) Smith

Kathy Smith has a Master's Degree in Counseling from Neumann University in Aston, PA. Kathy believes that the secret to happiness is helping others. She is a great listener and strives to meet her clients where they are versus telling them how and where to be. Kathy has enjoyed a career in the human services field for more than a decade, most recently working for a local nonprofit as a pet loss and grief counselor. She has helped people with a range of psychosocial needs, such as the HIV/AIDS population, those struggling with addiction and the homeless. Kathy is experienced in medical case management, crisis intervention and group therapy. Fun fact: Kathy is a huge animal lover. She loves music, tarot and astrology, being outside in nature, and spending time with her family- both with and without fur.

You don’t have to be positive all the time. It’s perfectly okay to feel sad, angry, annoyed, frustrated, scared and anxious. Having feelings doesn’t make you a negative person. It makes you human. - Lori Deschene
