ABOUT Joyelle Gaines

Joyelle (Joy) Gaines holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Baylor University.
As a social worker, Joy has first-hand experience in supporting others in their walk towards mental health and wellness. She has worked in many vulnerable communities and supported them in identifying and resolving mental health issues. Her previous work and passion is to support women and POC in managing mental health challenges not limited to the following: depression, anxiety, chronic stress and trauma, and negative self-perceptions. Joy’s experience includes consulting with individuals to utilize various mental health skills, including re-framing, goal-setting, positive self-talk, boundary setting and self-care planning. She used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) daily with clients to aid in coping mechanisms. Joy utilizes her educational background and her passion to serve, to create a safe space for others. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, cooking, playing with her dog and learning fun facts about pop culture.
