Jeshonda Dennis holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Delaware State University. As an individual who has previously overcome depression, she has worked with many adults who have unstable mood patterns. Jeshonda has supported patients who have felt a loss of control, been overly worried, and living in fear. Witnessing family members struggle with self-doubt and lack of purpose were motivators for her to obtain a career in mental health. Jeshonda utilizes various mental health interventions, including negative thought reprocessing, goal-setting, positive affirmation speaking, and meditating. A few examples of therapeutic approaches she utilizes are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET). These therapeutic approaches help her assist clients with engaging in daily coping skills. Jeshonda strives to teach patients ways to improve their mental state as well as advocating for their emotional and medical needs. In her free time, she engages in watching tv/movies, cooking, and drawing. She, also, enjoys engaging in self-care routines (exs. weekly massages, exercising) whenever possible!
