ABOUT Imelda (Mel) Benitez

Imelda Benitez holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University in the city of Malibu, California. As an aspiring educator, Imelda has experience with her students needing access to mental health care. Having witnessed her students and some family members endure depression, anxiety, eating disorders, PTSD, relationship issues, bipolar disorder, fueled her passion for helping her clients. Imelda‘s experience includes counseling her peers and students to utilize various coping mechanisms, including mindfulness, meditation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and everyday principles of presence to alleviate stress and cultivate inner peace. Imelda strives to utilize her education to promote mental health and living a more harmonious life. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, reading books, going on hikes/rides, and binge- watching good shows.
