ABOUT Erica Wurm

Erica Wurm holds a Master’s degree in Human Services with a concentration in Social and Community Services from Capella University. Erica became interested in helping others at a young age and found herself drawn to roles that allowed her to be that listening ear when life was challenging to those she interacted with. Erica’s experience includes conducting counseling in a wide range of settings and for a diverse range of populations. She has served as a Family Therapist, Outpatient Substance Abuse Counselor, Outpatient Mental Health Counselor, and Adolescent Counselor. She has a strong background in using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution Focused Interventions with her clients to assist them in developing skills to cope with challenges they have been experiencing. Erica focuses on being client centered and developing treatment approaches that are personally tailored to each client’s needs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors out in nature hiking, spending time at the beach, creating art, and playing with her dog Roxy.

The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers. -M. Scott Peck
