ABOUT Destiny (Dr. Destiny) Perry

Dr. Destiny Perry is a Qualified Mental Health Professional with 16 years of experience and is educationally diverse and has a multiplicity of skills in the mental, behavioral, and emotional health field. She provides counseling support services that meets the needs of diverse populations of people who are from all walks of life. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology, a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice with a specialized concentration in Criminal Behavior, and a Doctoral degree (PhD) in Counseling Studies. She is a faith-based counselor and particularly allows for a spiritual inclusion of her client’s beliefs to be a part of the healing and emotional care process. She believes in taking a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to mental health care management and utilizes several counseling strategies such as Spiritual Awareness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution and or Trauma - Focused Therapy, Talk Therapy, Mindfulness Thinking, and individualized Person-Centered Therapy in order to help clients overcome past trauma that has impacted their mental health. She has specialized experience in counseling, positive behavior support planning, psychological assessment, and advocacy care in trauma associated with intimate partner violence, domestic violence, sexual abuse, sexual assault, including childhood abuse and neglect. She is skilled in providing counseling to those who have an of ongoing diagnosis of Major Depression, PTSD, Anxiety, Bi-Polar Disorder, ADHD, ADD, and Cognitive Disabilities such as Intellectual and or Learning Disabilities. She has a passion for helping others cope, manage, overcome, and heal from emotional health challenges including those who have faced crisis moments and times of emotional trauma, distress, and devastation that may stem from either personal, marriage, and or other family issues. As a published author, licensed minister, and certified sexual assault advocate, Dr. Perry enjoys writing self-help spiritual based books on mental health and trauma, reading, and traveling with her family.
