ABOUT Colleen (Colleen) M. Schaaf

Colleen Schaaf graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a bachelor's degree in psychology, biology, and neuroscience. She is now pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Growing up, Colleen witnessed how shame and stigma can keep people from getting the help that they deserve. Now, she is determined to change the harmful narrative surrounding mental health. Colleen’s experience includes working with individuals and families in chronic crisis to explore healthier coping skills, heal from past trauma, develop communication skills, and set goals for long-term wellness. She often utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to help people reach their therapeutic goals. Colleen believes that everyone is worthy of help and capable of change. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her two Labradoodles, spending time in nature, and relaxing with a good book.

I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people. - Vincent Van Gogh
