ABOUT Christina Ochoa

Christina Ochoa holds a Master’s Degree in Human Science from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Christina has experience working with children and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, adhd, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and substance use disorders. Her years of clinic experience is what gives her first-hand knowledge when working with clients. Her experience includes working with clients in an out-patient mental health clinic to build a client centered recovery plan that is based on the client’s wants and needs, using coping skills such as mindfulness, emotional awareness, cognitive reframing, grounding techniques, and crisis planning. Christina uses Tic (trauma informed care) with every client. She strives to use her education and experience to help clients better understand their mental health, resulting in higher functioning and mental well-being. In her free time, Christina enjoys playing her fiddle and making music, spoiling her two dogs and cat, and spending time with family!
