Cate Lau is a Care Counselor at Cerebral who finds joy in partnering with clients to prioritize their mental wellness. Cate holds an LMSW and earned both her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master of Social Welfare at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Cate specializes in working with individuals experiencing generalized anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, and depression. With a background in clinical psychology research, Cate is especially passionate about using evidence-based treatment methods in order to help clients to reach their full potential. She uses various treatment techniques to support her clients, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solutions Focused Therapy, re-framing, and positive self-talk. Cate believes that everyone deserves to have access to the resources they need to live a fulfilling and balanced life, and she is honored to have the opportunity to work with her clients at Cerebral. When Cate is not working, she loves baking cakes, practicing yoga, and playing with her adorable puppy Ollie.
