Brittney Aladetohun holds a MS.Ed in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling from Old Dominion University. As a former educator, Brittney has first-hand experience working with various mental health challenges. While working with youth from underserved communities, she witnessed the effects of unresolved trauma and domestic violence, depression, ADHD, anger, impulsivity and negative self-perceptions. These issues inspired her journey of advocating for mental health in underrepresented communities.
Brittney’s experience ranges from counseling adolescents to adults, families and educators. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to equip her clients with a multitude of coping skills. She utilizes meditation, thought-stopping techniques, goal-setting, art and music in sessions. Brittney uses her skills to promote mental wellness and cultural competence.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, dancing, singing, soaking up the sun and trying vegan recipes.
