At this year’s Summer Olympics, Simone Biles, one of the greatest athletes in history, did something incredibly courageous. Known for maneuvering herself gracefully over the floor, flying beautifully off the vault, and dropping jaws along the way, Simone did something even braver. She looked into the face of extreme pressure and stood tall for her mental health.
Here at Cerebral, we watched with awe as Simone overcame an extreme version of the same challenge we all face: caring for ourselves and doing the best for our mental health.
That’s why we’re so excited to partner with Simone and join our efforts with hers to raise awareness of mental health issues and ensure everyone has the best access to high-quality mental health care.
We are thrilled to announce Simone Biles as Cerebral’s official Chief Impact Officer!
You don’t have to be an Olympic athlete to feel burnt out, pressured by life, or anxious about your performance. We are all human, and we all need to care for our mental health, just like we need to care for our physical health.
Unfortunately, stigma and a lack of access to mental health care remain huge barriers to people finding the care they need. In fact, well over 50% of people with mental health issues in the US do not get the care they need. You may be one of them.
Cerebral’s mission is to improve access to high-quality mental health care to everyone who needs it. Mental health issues do not discriminate. As Simone and other outspoken public figures have shown us, you can be on top of the world and still struggle.
There’s a revolution going on. Look around, and you’ll notice more and more athletes, celebrities, and other public figures taking a stand for mental health. You’ll notice that members of your community and family are likely discussing it more often. You may even find that you yourself are thinking about mental health more often.
We’re proud to do our part by providing access to high-quality online mental health support. And we’re proud to partner with Simone Biles, who has already done so much to bring the conversation into households and communities around the world.
So what does the partnership mean? Cerebral is committing to providing half a million dollars in mental health services to underserved communities, including children in foster care. We’ll also dedicate support to young, aspiring athletes at the World Championship Center and WCC Academy. And even more, Cerebral will be an official sponsor of Bile’s Gold Over America Tour and the 2022 Biles Invitational.
We’re excited to get started and work with Simone to improve mental health care for everyone! Together, we’ll push the mental health revolution even further, and we won’t stop until everyone receives the mental health support they need.
